Thomas Phillip Pollock

(April 10, 1943 – August 1, 2020)

It is with deep sadness that we regret to inform you of the passing of alumnus Tom Pollock ’60 from a heart attack on August 1, 2020.  Tom was not only an icon in Hollywood, but as the grandson of founder Louis Zalk, and one of the first students to attend Happy Valley while in middle school, an icon to the HVS-BHS family as well.  The contributions made by the Zalk-Pollock family are unparalleled.  Tom visited the school most recently as part of our Distinguished Speaker Series where he graciously shared with the students his fond reminiscences about his days at the school, as well as his extensive entertainment industry experience.  Tom is survived by his mother Helene Zalk Pollock (101.5 years young), sister Margo Sinclair, brother and alumnus Kenneth Pollock ’65, children Alexandra, Allegra, Luke and 4 grandchildren. Our condolences go out to all who had the pleasure and honor of knowing him.
We will honor Tom as part of the 75th Anniversary Jubilee events in spring 2021 at the unveiling of the Alumni Rising memorial as COVID-19 allows.
