The ESL program has three levels, and students are placed in level one, two, or three, depending upon his/her initial TOEFL, TWE, and other in-house reading, writing, and speaking assessments. We honor each student’s different learning style, and we use testing only as a guide to placement. The student’s prior English and academic experiences are also taken into account when placing a student in ESL levels.
As a certified ETS (Educational Testing Service) testing site, students have a statistical advantage on the TOEFL in their ability to test at their home campus. By working with the ESL Instructor, Director of Academics, and Director of College Counseling, we ensure that students have all the credits for high school graduation and college acceptance.
