The Major Gifts Office operates under the auspices of the Office of Advancement and Development Department. Gifts are typically given toward capital campaign funds and may be restricted for use.
In addition to securing capital campaign contributions, the Major Gifts Department also handles the school’s Planned Giving Program. Gifts can be received via bequests, life insurance, annuities and/or trust vehicles.
Major Gifts is also responsible for the Anacapa Summit for donors pledging $5000.00/year for 5 years toward the Annual Fund or other restricted use; the solicitation of capital through grants and foundations; and the creation and implementation of various recognition programs including: The Faculty & Staff Memorial Sculpture Garden, The Dr. Guido Ferrando Grape Arbor, The Oral History Project, The Parents of Alumni Coalition (PoAC), and the Masters Lecture Series, all designed to encourage the engagement of alumni and their families with current students, faculty and staff.
Besant Hill School of Happy Valley is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Financial gifts are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. We receive no government funding and rely on the generosity of parents, alumni, trustees and friends to sustain our programs.
