Aún Aprendo

I am still learning.

Besant Hill School is a community bonded by curiosity, inquiry, and questioning. When the motto “Aún Aprendo” was established by Aldous Huxley in his 1951 commencement speech, he grounded process-based learning into the foundation of the school.  Today, our faculty members are active as artists, athletes, environmentalists, and musicians, while our students share cultures from all ends of the globe. We are a community rich with traditions to honor our founders’ visions and to learn from our 520-acre campus, where learning extends beyond classroom doors.

Small By Design

As a small community by design, our teachers are also our coaches, dormitory parents, excursion leaders, and role-models. The result is a small community with opportunities for students that are not available at larger educational institutions. At Besant Hill School, students perform on stage, play as teammates, travel internationally, all with their faculty mentors. We are a school of life-long learners.

Portrait of a Graduate

The programs offered on campus reflect the intention to inspire and optimize students for a life of learning. Our college-preparatory courses are supported by individual student attention from faculty mentors throughout the day.  A graduate can expect to have an appreciation for the arts and the environment, worldly perspective, the ability to think critically, and strong character to voice their ideas.  At Besant Hill School, students are taught how to think, not what to think.
