For over 30 years, Besant Hill has provided such experiences through our Outdoor Education Program (OEP). Weekend Activities
The program offers enriching experiences in diverse locations across California and our picturesque town of Ojai. These meticulously planned excursions occur on weekends and vary in duration from day trips to three-day weekend adventures. Students eagerly anticipate our annual ski trip to Mammoth and camping expeditions to renowned destinations such as Big Sur, Yosemite, Goleta, and the hidden treasure of Lake Casitas. During these outings, students engage in many activities, including kayaking, fishing, rock climbing, hiking, and more, fostering camaraderie and personal growth.
In addition to weekend adventures, our OEP is seamlessly integrated into our daily schedule as one of our fitness electives. This strategic incorporation ensures that students partake in occasional excursions and regularly engage with nature and outdoor activities as an integral component of their holistic education. These experiences instill a profound appreciation for the outdoors and cultivate valuable life skills and lasting memories for our students.
