Application Process

We strive to make our application process as simple and stress-free as possible. Besant Hill accepts applications on a rolling basis for both Fall and Spring entry, giving your family the flexibility to apply when the timing is right for you.

Step 1: Submit Your Application

You can apply online directly through our website or via the Standard Application Online (SAO). The Besant Hill application consists of:

  • Student Profile & Short Essay
  • Teacher Recommendations: Current English and Math teachers
  • Transcripts

Step 2: English Proficiency & Testing (Optional)

Because we offer comprehensive English as a Second Language (ESL) support, English proficiency testing is optional.

  • International & Transfer Students: While not required, submitting an official score from TOEFL, IELTS, or Duolingo is recommended for students transferring in to help us properly place you in our curriculum.
  • Standardized Testing: Besant Hill does not require SSAT, ISEE, HPST, SAT, or ACT scores. We look beyond test scores to evaluate character, creativity, maturity, and a desire to contribute to our vibrant community.

Step 3: Complete Your Interview

Once your application materials are submitted, our team will reach out to schedule your personal interview (conducted in-person or virtually).

Above all, we strive to bring a well-rounded, interesting, and diverse group of creative students to our boarding school.
