Zalk Hosts Zorá String Quartet

Following their Sunday, May 6 Chamber on the Mountain concert, the award-winning Zorá String Quartet performed and spoke with students during a special Monday assembly. The quartet includes violinists Dechopol Kowintaweewat and Hsuan-Hao Hsu,  Pablo Muñoz Salido on viola, and Zizai Ning playing cello. Between each stunning performance, the quartet  welcomed questions from the audience. Among other questions, students were curious about their studies, the tools they use (sheet music vs iPad), and how they navigate their personal relationships and resolve conflict as friends and musicians. The result of this open exchange was a deeper understanding of the hard work and human element behind the quartet’s seemingly flawless performances.

We thank the Happy Valley Cultural Center and Chamber on the Mountain Artistic Director Heidi Lehwalder, for facilitating these inspiring visits by some of the world’s most talented young musicians.
