Students will give back more through new community service efforts

Community service has always been an important part of Besant Hill School’s educational initiatives for our students. This year, as part of a new plan to increase the intentional aspect of our work in the community, students are traveling across Ventura County and beyond to experience what it truly means to “give back.”

In September, our freshmen assisted with sorting food for the pantry at Food Share Ventura.

In October, members of the junior class enjoyed their time hosting the Harvest Festival at Holy Cross Preschool in Ojai.

Additionally, members of the junior class picked oranges with Food Forward in Montecito, who will in turn donate the picked fruit to food banks and shelters.

In December, our sophomores and seniors will be part of a trash-cleanup hike and volunteer work at a local elementary school.
