School celebrates science and art during STEAM Week
This week focused on Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math and will include student presentations, performances, special events and assemblies.
Monday's assembly included presentations from AP Economics on Scarcity, Choice, and Opportunity costs.
Monday also included a presentation on tiny homes, and a 3D model of a futuristic house boat.
Wednesday's assembly included a presentation an "The Amazing Stupid Gift" (a novelty or gag gift gets used a few times and thrown away) video on measuring the strength of model bridge building and the Rainwater Catchment Bio-Swale project, and a live performance.
Thursday's assembly included a presentation about how photography helped prove Einstein's Theory of Relativity, parts of motorcycle was acted out by physics students to explain engine combustion, and the statistical question was explored "How many people would you need to have a 50/50 chance of two people sharing the same birthday?" Also, a video was shown by Algebra students.
Friday's Assembly included a presentation about Greenhouse Gas, Caffeine's effects on the brain, Michelle sang Tom Lehrer's Elements song, and six randomly selected students who answered questions about facts learned throughout the week. Congratulations, Ella!
