Outdoor Education Goes Big in Big Sur, CA

Our Outdoor Education program is super-charged this Spring with local hikes and outdoor training! Last weekend, the class had the opportunity to venture further north to Big Sur for a two-day adventure through majestic coastal Redwoods and Ventana Wilderness. The “Sea to Sky” trail weaves in and out of canyons, through grottos, cold streams, and provides many classic ocean vistas. Blooming wildflowers added an almost surreal beauty to one of the most breathtaking coastlines in the world.

Led by science instructor Leland Fulton and director of sustainability John Wilkinson, a group of eight students hiked a total of 23 miles from sea-level to to 5500 feet elevation.
