CASE (Council for Advancement and Support of Education) recently announced the winners of its prestigious 2016 Awards of Excellence, which included a Silver Medal to Ojai’s Besant Hill School of Happy Valley in the “Digital Magazine” category.

For our first Distinguished Speaker Series of the year, alumnus Jesse Kaplan, Class of 2001, returned to speak about his career in photography, world travel, and how he uses drones to capture amazing footage for his clients.
During Wednesday’s assembly, Marion “Ruth” Weil, HVS Class of 1960, gave a presentation as part of our Distinguished Speakers Series. She spoke about Annie Besant’s life, connection to Theosophy, J. Krishnamurdi, her connection to Ojai, and the formation of Happy Valley School, now Besant Hill School of Happy Valley.
Textile, color guru and creator of the mosaic outside the Zalk Theater, alumnus Kaffe Fassett, ’55, joined us yesterday afternoon in the Zalk Theater for our first Distinguished Speaker Series event of the year. Kevin Henschel,’93, conducted a thorough interview that got to the heart of Fasset’s life work in the decorative arts.
Dr. Raymond Richard Neutra was born in Los Angeles in 1939. For 25 years Dr. Neutra was on the board of the Besant Hill School.
