Celebrating International Week 2018

Each year, Director of International Student Programs Shannon Rowan works collaboratively with faculty, students, and the Humanities Department to brainstorm and plan events, activities, and menus that celebrate the rich diversity and unique perspectives of our community. As always, the week was full of fun and learning through community participation in a variety of events and presentations.

International Week kicked off Tuesday with Bollywood Dancing, a World History class presentation on the Olympic Games (and assigning teams for our own games!), and an amazing international lunch! The rest of the week was action-packed with student-led language classes, international music, presentations from our Model UN delegates, and a Chinese New Year parade. Since we are a community rich in diverse perspectives and experiences, it’s wonderful to have so many activities in which our cultural perspectives could be shared and celebrated!
