Family Weekend, Thank You!

It was such a pleasure to have families, friends, and alumni join us here on campus for this year’s Family Weekend and 60th-ish Alumni Reunion celebrations last weekend! A special thank you to the Besant Hill Student Government and our entire student body for being such gracious and helpful hosts!

The weekend kicked off with a Distinguished Speakers Series interview with 1960’s alumnae Joan Watts who spoke about her time at Happy Valley School, her career as an artist, fly-fishing, and spoke about her father Alan Watts. Alumni then toured the campus to see the many recent updates, additions, and improvements to the buildings and grounds.  Failies began arriving later in the afternoon to enjoy a parent reception in the Beato Atelier, family dinner in the Commons, and a wonderful concert in the Zalk Theater. Saturday included events for both alumni and families and ended with the annual Farm to Table fundraiser dinner, this year featured renowned chef Jeffrey Zurofski.

Family Weekend

Families arrive for reception in the Beato Atelier followed by dinner and Fall Concert.

Class rotations gave parents a chance to experience students’ class schedules, learn more about faculty’s teaching approach, ask questions, and get to know the faculty.
