College Update Spring 2016

COLLEGE ACCEPTANCES FOR THE CLASS OF 2016

Each year, the Besant Hill community looks forward to hearing of the many college admissions attained by members of the graduating class. This year has brought much jubilation! By April 1, the seniors will have learned their results from each college and university to which they applied, and then the arduous decision process will begin. May 1 is the national “reply by” deadline, when seniors solidify their plans for higher education and commit to their prospective institutions.

COLLEGE PLANNING FOR JUNIORS

The Class of 2017 has begun attending a weekly college counseling seminar to learn the scope of the college search, application, and admission process. Utilizing tools embedded in the BHS College Counseling software, Naviance Family Connection, the juniors have completed self-assessments and career interest surveys. Through one-on- one meetings with Brook Masters, Director of College Counseling, students develop a healthy list of prospective colleges and universities to research. A plan for standardized testing is made for each student, with April and May marking the first round of ACT and SAT tests. This is a time for dreaming the future into existence, and a journey that yields profound growth, self- awareness, and new goals. The Class of 2017 has much to look forward to!

The list of college acceptances is still growing , and we celebrate the triumphs of our seniors! Congratulations to the Besant Hill School of Happy Valley Class of 2016 for the following college acceptances:
