During Wednesday’s assembly, Marion “Ruth” Weil, HVS Class of 1960, gave a presentation as part of our Distinguished Speakers Series. She spoke about Annie Besant’s life, connection to Theosophy, J. Krishnamurdi, her connection to Ojai, and the formation of Happy Valley School, now Besant Hill School of Happy Valley.
For their 2014 Fall performance, the Performing and Visual Art Department at Besant Hill School presented Oscar Wilde’s The Importance of Being Earnest – A Serious Comedy for Trivial People.

The Performing and Visual Art Department presents the hit off-Broadway musical “Urinetown”. It’s a terrible name, but one of the most uproariously funny musicals in recent years. Set in a town plagued by drought, a malevolent corporation controls the “pay-to-pee” public amenities, jailing anyone caught peeing elsewhere.
Dr. Raymond Richard Neutra was born in Los Angeles in 1939. For 25 years Dr. Neutra was on the board of the Besant Hill School.
Tom Stoppard’s The Real Inspector Hound is a play within a play where fantasy and reality become one. The “play” on stage is a whodunnit being reviewed by two arrogant and competitive critics.
