Amnesty International Club Raises Funds & Awareness

“Each voice adds up, and it makes a real difference in people’s lives.” – Emmy H. ’19

This week, our student-led Amnesty International club continued their goal of raising funds and awareness throughout the school community by holding a bake sale during lunch and giving an extremely informative presentation during assembly. For their presentation, the club chose to highlight a current effort, urgent-action victories, and showed how others could join their efforts by getting involved and supporting this important organization.

“We have a voice.” – Marie H. ’21

In January of last year, our Distinguished Speaker Series welcomed Executive Director of Amnesty International USA’s Margaret Huang for an interview and discussion with students and faculty. Her visit was impactful and inspired students to take action.

Last year, Yiyi Z. ’17 dedicated her senior Capstone Project to working with Amnesty in Los Angeles and gave an impassioned presentation about her experience.
