College Fair

College and University Representative Visits

Every year, representatives from colleges and universities around the country, and abroad, visit Besant Hill School to meet with prospective students and share information about their institutions and college application process.

Annual College Fairs

Besant Hill School students have the opportunity to attend our own college fair and an annual college fair hosted by one of our neighboring schools in Ojai, Villanova High School.  Fair attendees visit the booths of over 25 colleges and universities. Following the fair, admissions representatives from participating institutions conducted workshops, while students rotated through their chosen topics. The workshop titles included: “Why Consider Out-of-State Colleges?” “The College Personal Statement”, “Understanding ACT, SAT, and Subject Exams,” “What Colleges Are Looking For,” and “Reviewing Portfolio Requirements for Art Schools.” These types of fairs and workshops provide prospective college students with useful exposure and information on the college search and admission processes.

UC Application Workshop with UC Riverside

On Tuesday, November 12, seniors had the opportunity to participate in an application workshop for the University of California system. The workshop was conducted by Olivia Chen, Undergraduate and International Admissions Specialist with the University of California at Riverside. Ms. Chen carefully explained each step of the UC application and provided helpful suggestions and tips. After her presentation, she fielded questions from students who were still navigating the UC application process and facing a quickly approaching deadline. We were very fortunate to be able to offer this workshop to our students!
