Ana Ming Bostwick-Singer ’12

My passion for dance and aerial were supported and nurtured at Besant Hill School. I found that I could use my voice through dance to express ideas and emotions about things we were studying in the classroom.

Start Your Creative Quest

As a student at Besant Hill, you will never underestimate your creative potential. Why? Besant Hill School believes that right brain thinkers will be tomorrow’s leaders. In today’s world being literate in reading, writing and arithmetic is not nearly enough. To be truly literate, you must be able to express your passions. You must know and understand the world around you; you must know how to relate and understand another person’s point of view and perspective and; you must do it in an environment where a community celebrates creativity at each and every turn. Besant Hill School has always placed emphasis on the arts and artists in our society.

…And Don’t Believe You’re Too Young to Play

Each year at Besant Hill, we stage at least two fully-rigged theatrical productions in our state-of-the-art, 175 seat Zalk Theater. With its high-tech sound system and movie-theater-quality digital projector and screen, the Zalk also annually hosts music class concerts and variety shows. Our music students play and compose in forms ranging from rock to blues to jazz to classical, under the guidance of instructors who are active professionals with strong ties to the regional music scene. They regularly take students to Los Angeles and Santa Barbara for theater and concerts and can often be found jamming with them at local coffee shops and other neighborhood venues. In fact, our connection to the hundreds of writers, directors, actors and visual artists has created numerous opportunities for our students.
