Zelda was born and raised in South Africa, where she enjoyed the benefits of an excellent education system. She excelled in her studies and began her professional career the day after completing her last high school exam. She was employed by a Chartered Accountant firm in Cape Town, as the assistant to the head of the financial services department. Zelda helped manage the investments of the firm’s clients and was recognized on several occasions for her contribution to the efficiency of her department. Had Zelda remained at the firm, she would have easily been promoted, but she met an American studying at the University of Cape Town and fate had a different path in store. She married the American, and they relocated back to his hometown of Ojai, where she found a role at Besant Hill School.

At BHS, though her title is officially ‘Receptionist,’ she assists a variety of departments, including the Athletic Department, the Business Department, and many others when they call upon her to help. Zelda enjoys the family atmosphere at BHS and appreciates the opportunity BHS has provided.

In her off-time, she enjoys baking, running, hiking, going to the beach, and connecting with her family back home.
