BFA in Theatre from West Virginia University


Scott is originally from Pittsburgh, PA, where he attended high school and then went on to receive a BFA in Theatre/Acting from West Virginia University. Prior to joining Besant Hill School, Scott enjoyed a 25-year career as an actor in film and television, working on shows such as NYPD Blue, Gettysburg and Desperate Housewives. (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0132841/). Scott also worked extensively in theater as an actor, director and designer. He was artistic director of the Alliance Repertory Company from 1989 to 1994, and producing director from 2002 to 2005, where the company received many awards for its work. Scott is also a painter, with exhibits of his work held in Los Angeles and Ojai.

At Besant Hill School, Scott enjoys teaching theatre-related classes such as Acting, Directing, Theater Production and Modern World Theater and Modern American Theater. He also has the great fortune of directing shows each year at the school. The fun spills over into the summer, where Scott is developing a film and theater program with several alums of BHS and others from the Ojai community.

Scott is married to his high school sweetheart, Patty, and they are the proud parents of Joy Campbell.
