Peyton was born in Richmond, VA, and spent most of her childhood in the Richmond area. She moved to Ponte Vedra Beach, FL, when she was 14 years old and graduated from Episcopal High School in Jacksonville, FL. She received her B.A. in Art and Art History from the University of Virginia in 2002 and her M.F.A from Parsons School of Design in 2005.
Peyton instructed secondary level art students in two of Virginia's most highly ranked academic schools for six years and served as adjunct faculty in the School of the Arts at Virginia Commonwealth University for five years. After meeting the students and faculty at BHS she fell in love with the school. A deeply rooted appreciation and supportive community for the arts, as well as the family-like feeling attracted her to join BHS this year. She will be serving as a visual arts instructor and the visual arts department chair.
When Peyton's not teaching art or making art of her own she's out for a run, trying out a new restaurant or aspiring to cook well for her friends.
