B.A. Bates College

After growing up in New Hampshire, Krissie attended Bates College in Maine, where she majored in English, captained the varsity soccer and softball teams, and graduated in 2003. To pursue her passion for writing, she embarked on a one-year internship at the nonprofit Women’s Sports Foundation in New York, producing the organization’s weekly e-newsletter. For the next three years, she taught English at The Winchendon School in Winchendon, Massachusetts, where she met her husband, Peter. Seeking outdoor adventures, Krissie and Peter moved to Boise, Idaho, and Krissie worked as a grant writer for another nonprofit, the Idaho Youth Ranch, while Peter earned his M.A. at Boise State University.

Anxious to return to teaching, Krissie and Peter met the BHS administrative team while attending an NAIS conference in Chicago and were both honored to join the faculty in 2009. In 2010, Krissie completed her M.A. from Middlebury College’s Bread Loaf School of English. This year, she is teaching English I, working in the ISP and Writing Center, aiding the student government, and serving as the assistant coach for girls’ tennis and the head coach for the girls' lacrosse team. Krissie enjoys being a dorm parent in the girls’ dorm, Phoenix, and tries to read, run, hike, and ski as much as she can.
