BA in Geosciences with Honors, Skidmore College, Saratoga Springs, NY

Narva grew up outside Boston, MA, and moved after his sophomore year of high school to Dallas, TX. After graduating from high school, Narva moved to Saratoga Springs, NY, for college. He completed his Bachelor of Arts in geosciences and earned an Honors commendation for his research from Skidmore College in 2008.

Upon graduating from Skidmore College Narva spent his 5th summer working as a counselor at his childhood summer camp: Camp Walt Whitman in Piermont, NH. This was the same camp that Kevin Henschel worked at for nearly a decade (Kevin was Narva’s CIT Director when he was 16). That summer, Narva was offered a job after camp to assist in planning and leading Besant Hill’s Fall Trips Orientation program. When they emerged from the woods, BHS offered Narva a full-time position providing a variety of services across the academic, residential, and athletic programs. Since then his job description has remained consistently diffused throughout many of the school’s integral components, which he enjoys because it engages him in all facets of Besant Hill.

Narva’s favorite part about Besant Hill School is the community. It reminds him of his camp community that he has grown to love; a place where faculty AND students are an integral part of the atmosphere. He believes that the level of support that is provided for the students and for faculty members is incredible: "Cultivating a community such as ours takes a lot of work, on everyone’s part, but in the end everyone reaps the benefits."

Currently Narva resides in Phoenix Dorm (for his third year) with his new dog, Penny. When he is not working, Narva thrives on traveling and the outdoors. Most of his vacations are spent ice climbing back East, rock climbing around the West, and mountain biking everything in between.
