In Digital Arts, we will be using computer software to create visual works of art. The progress of this class will be highly individualized based on each student’s experience and motivation.
Students will learn how to navigate, open, and save files. We will then move into learning the Adobe Creative Suite, starting with Photoshop. Students will learn the functions, tools, bars, drop-down options, filters, brushes and color palettes that make up the Photoshop interface. Students will be challenged to create shapes, layouts, type treatments, and various graphic elements.
We will be learning Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator (and may be moving on to InDesign, Flash, and Dreamweaver). Students will understand the specific function of each program, and how it can harness and enhance their artistic visions. We may be creating posters, CD covers, tee shirts, book covers, skateboard/snowboard decks, etc etc. Students may also have the chance to create their own projects based on personal interests.
