  • A New School Year Begins!

    Posted September 4, 2015

This week we welcomed both new and returning students in the Atelier to open the 2015-2016 academic year. Students had the opportunity to move into their rooms in the morning and break the ice in the afternoon during Class Connections. Kudos to this year's Student Government for their leadership over the last few days. Welcome, everyone!

  • Summer Institute 2015 Comes to an End

    Posted July 31, 2015

It was a fun, educational, and action packed few months! Thanks to all of the wonderful students and faculty for their dedication in, and outside of, the classroom. They all made this year's Summer Institute a huge success. We wish everyone a relaxing few weeks before the next school year begins!

  • Saying Goodbye to our friends from Kazakhstan

    Posted July 17, 2015

This week we said goodbye to a wonderful group of students attending the Besant Hill Summer Institute from Kazakhstan. These twenty bright students of Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools (NIS) were such a pleasure to have on campus. Their pride in Kazakh traditions, enthusiasm for learning about California and engagement in the classroom, was enjoyed by our faculty, staff and fellow students.

Are you interested in applying to BHS? If so, it is probably one of the most important decisions you will make in your life. The application to Besant Hill School contains the general application, parent and student questionnaires, transcript request, student essay and three teacher recommendations. Your application will be read by each member of the Admissions Committee, who will then reach a decision about your acceptance to the school.

Although a demonstrated responsibility for learning is the most important criterion, the committee also looks for qualities of character and maturity, as well as the ability and willingness to contribute to the life of the school community. Differences in background, circumstance and educational opportunity are also valued and weigh in our decisions. Above all, we strive to bring a well-rounded, interesting and diverse group of creative students to BHS. These students should be eager to take advantage of the many opportunities the school has to offer.

Please contact us at any time, and we will do our best to make sure that applying to BHS is a positive experience.

Besant Hill School of Happy Valley is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC)  and is a member of the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS), the California Association of Independent Schools (CAIS), and The Association of Boarding Schools (TABS).

Besant Hill School offers open admissions by application and admits students of any color, national or ethnic origin, religion, or creed. It does not discriminate on the basis of any of the above, nor on gender or sexual orientation, in the administration of its educational policies, financial aid programs, or athletic and other school-administered programs.
